Basketball – A Fast Game
Basketball is a popular sport. Two teams play against each other. Each team has five players. The goal is to score points. Players must throw the ball into the hoop. The team with the most points wins.
Players must not run with the ball. They can only dribble while moving. They can pass the ball or try to shoot. The referee may give fouls if a player pushes or grabs another player.
A basketball game has four parts (called quarters). Each quarter lasts 10 to 12 minutes. If the game ends in a tie, players may play extra time. Many people like basketball because it is fast and fun. It helps players stay active and strong.
